Greensleeves Lawn Care Brighton

We paid for our lawn to be scarified and reseeded in October. The scarification itself seemed fine, but none of the seed took — leaving us with large patches of bare, hard earth over the winter. Greensleeves acknowledged this was due to lack of rain in early October (unlike their later jobs that month which had been more successful) and offered to reseed in the spring at no charge, which we appreciated. Unfortunately the spring visit got off to a poor start when they failed to turn up on the appointed day and we had to chase them. When two operatives eventually came, they simply walked over the lawn scattering seed onto the hard, bare patches and told us to water it because the ground was very hard — and that was the extent of it. My husband looked into it afterwards and while this approach can work, it carries a high risk of failure; the proper method for compacted ground would have been to aerate the patches, seed, and then cover with soil. Predictably, it didn't work. We have since done it ourselves — aerating, seeding and covering with soil — and the results are already looking very promising. The whole experience was really disappointing. We chose Greensleeves precisely because they are supposed to be the experts, and we expected rather more than what was delivered.

I’ve wasted nearly two months chasing the Brighton Greensleeves franchise for a simple refund after cancelling my service in May 2025. Despite multiple emails and calls, I was ignored for weeks, then given contradictory explanations for how my payments had been calculated. In February, I was told my monthly Direct Debit would be reduced due to a smaller lawn area. That never happened. In July, I was told a refund would be issued within 48 hours - again, nothing. I was then told the refund hadn’t been processed because they were apparently “awaiting my confirmation” - which they never requested. Even basic requests like getting copies of my treatment invoices were repeatedly ignored. I’ve now asked them to process the refund just to close this off, but I do not agree with their calculations or the way this was handled. Based on other recent reviews, it seems this isn’t an isolated issue. The customer service under the current management is disorganised and unresponsive. Avoid.

Caution: All the positive reviews for this company were for the previous management beyond about 1 year ago. The new management as of about a year ago are completely unreliable and incompetent, they are impossible to contact through either their email, website forms, or both phone numbers. They send you an email saying they weren't able to attend and then you hear nothing else and you can't contact them about it. Nor can you even contact them about trying to get additional treatments done etc. I have been using Greensleeves for about 5 years but now I have become so frustrated with the management and their systems that I have decided to go elsewhere for my lawn care.

excellent service from this team. we had used one of the other companies before who were a real struggle to use as they were bad at communicating and inflexible with visits. the communication is excellent, very fair pricing, and the lawn is looking the best it ever has. thank you.

Greensleeves have been looking after our lawns for 3 years and we have been delighted with the results. They always turn up as agreed and are very friendly. It has been better having them do regular treatments than re-turfing which would have been more expensive

Greensleeves keeps our lawns weed free, green, and a pleasure to look at. The cost is reasonable. Operative always contacts us the day prior to visiting and suggests any special lawn treatments. We have used Greensleeves for several years and would have no hesitation in recommending them.
