Laurel Bay Garden Services

Laurel Bay Garden Services is a soft landscaping business run by Martyn and Faith, operating since 2011 and serving Cardiff and the surrounding areas for the past 15 years. Martyn is a fully accredited gardener with an RHS level 2 qualification in Practical Horticulture and is a member of the Gardeners Guild. The business holds a green waste carrier license and is fully insured.

It uses battery-powered equipment and communicates with clients at all stages of work. The grass cutting service runs from March to October. Services include garden clearance, border restoration, hedge cutting, brush and bramble removal, shrub pruning, small tree maintenance, lawn mowing, mulching, weed control, leaf collection, jet washing, soft washing and green waste removal.

Overgrown lawns, tangled shrub borders and unruly hedges are the sort of work that fills this Cardiff company's order book, and the transformations it delivers are what reviewers highlight again and again. The proprietor Martyn and his colleague Faith are named time and again for their courteous approach and for turning up as arranged, with customers appreciating the heads-up when wet weather forces a visit to be rescheduled. Tidiness after completion is a point that comes up often, since greenery, brambles and general debris are carted off rather than abandoned on site.

The tasks covered in accounts include mowing and edging, hedge and shrub reduction, weeding of paths and drives, weedkiller application, pruning back trees and bushes, and even applying wood preserver to a summer house. Charges are described as reasonable for the effort involved, and the advice offered on badly neglected plots is valued. Reviewers also note how briskly the two work through a job, sometimes over several days, until a space is restored to something its owner can keep on top of.
