We had a colossal garden renovation project, which was arguably more of a rescue operation! We have a very steep, tiered garden that was in a state of dangerous disrepair. Some levels were falling away and we trying to hold them up by tying ropes around railings and trees. To add to these challenges, the garden backs onto a nature reserve and there is only side access through our garage. Over the last year, we approached and were rapidly turned away by multiple landscapers, all of whos websites boasted that 'No job was too big.' It was very stressful and I thought no one would help, until Southampton Homes came to our rescue in January 2025. Steve is a very friendly, knowledgeable and tenacious. He takes immense pride in the quality of his work. Throughout the project, customer satisfaction was always the absolute priority. Due to the scale of the job and challenges it presented, we had to make a few last minute changes. This was never an issue and communication was always easy with Steve and David. They were always kind, patient and receptive to any ideas or changes we presented to them. Steve often suggested alternative solutions and guided us on what materials would be the most sustainable and cost effective. Tom and Neil were also a credit to the team. They worked so hard in ALL weather conditions without any complaints. They were always on time.. sometimes early in fact and they were consistently friendly, polite and respectful. The garden was always left neat and tidy after work each day. I truly can't recommend Southampton Homes highly enough. In terms of their approachability, attention to detail and reliability, this team is simply outstanding. They far exceeded our expectations. Thank you so much guys. You are super stars! We hadn't heard of Sutherlands before, but they had good reviews online so we got them round to quote for some landscaping. They turned up on time, listened to what we wanted and explained what they could do given what they had to work with. Their quote was reasonable and so we booked them to do the job. A couple of days in and we noticed a couple of things that we wanted changing. We pointed this out and the next day they rectified matters without quibble. Thomas was in charge of the job and everything went smoothly. Communication was always good, requests were replied to in good time, Sutherlands were good to their word and always turned up on time. Upon completion there were a couple of small snags which were put right promptly without question. The two new patios and raised flower beds look excellent and we are very pleased with the standard of work done. I would highly recommend Sutherlands, they were easy to deal with and have done a great job.

Sutherland Landscapes supplied and built a composite deck in our garden. David was very polite and professional and provided a quote quickly. Tom, who did the work, was friendly and punctual. He worked very hard everyday, even through some torrential downpours! We are really happy with the end result and would definitely recommend this company. Updated June 2024. Unfortunately there has been a manufacturer issue with the composite boards used. Sutherland’s after care service has been exceptional - they have responded promptly, raised the issue with the manufacturer and have undertaken to fix the issue ASAP. We have been very impressed with their commitment to customer service.

Sutherlands did a major revamp on both my front and back garden replacing existing borders with cobbles and some plants. They also did some repointing of patio slabs and removal of old wooden decking. Andy did a nice design for us initially and Tom made a very nice job of the landscaping and was happy to vary things a little on the design as it progressed and we could see what the finished article would look like. The completed job was exactly what we wanted. Unfortunately, we subsequently found that not all the original bulbs in the borders had been removed and reappeared through the barrier sheeting particularly in one of the front borders. We agreed to wait to see the extent of the issue this spring but Tom has just returned and carried out remedial work to remove all those remaining bulbs and it looks great again.

A good experience from initial quote meeting through to completion of the project. The work was artificial grass (90sqm) being installed. For future potential customers using Sutherlands this artificial grass was the ‘Estate’ variation they offer.

Our drive way was an absolute mess and an embarrassment to look at.. parking on one side made it impossible and would damage our cars, for a while we were looking for quotes and just had kept being put off with prices, as you can see in the pictures our driveway was just getting worse, it was time to finally do something about it. Sutherlands landscapes were working on a garden round the corner of our house and so we decided to see if they would come and take a look at our swamp of a driveway, Tom came round the next day and was very friendly, honest, and could see we really needed help and seemed keen to get our driveway looking fresh and welcoming. After some talks and design ideas we were happy to go ahead with their great quote and they started a week later! Something we noticed straight away about Sutherlands landscapes is how hard these guys work, perfectionists, tidy and reliable trades men, they pushed through and worked in horrid weather to get the job done and in the promised finish time, we were kept up to date on a daily basis on what they would work on next, in less than a week we had a driveway, we couldn’t believe it, and from the pictures you can see just how much pride they take in their work, the before and after pictures speaks a thousand words! And with a two year guarantee they ensured us to please call if anything goes out of place and they would be round straight away to fix. Thank you so much for giving our house a fantastic facelift.
