Rebecca Gear has worked for Mulch London over the last three years, has a degree in garden design, and has gardening industry qualifications. Roger Mallett gained an allotment in 2019. The company has worked with Trees for Bermondsey since 2022 and with Herne Hill Velodrome. It provides gardening services.

What customers say

Based on genuine customer reviews

Garden maintenance, fencing and design work feature repeatedly in feedback for this south London team, whose customers value both the standard of the finished result and the manner in which it is delivered. Several reviewers describe Luke as responsive and accommodating, noting that quotes arrive quickly with clear costings and that arrangements are confirmed without fuss. Punctuality and hard work come up often, with named team members including Easton and Ava singled out for their effort on site.

The range of jobs covered is broad: winter clean-ups, long-term garden planning, regular upkeep, pruning a wisteria, repairing fence spurs and installing a bespoke timber fence with trellis across roughly thirty metres. Several accounts note that the crew consulted thoroughly beforehand, worked through freezing temperatures and snow to keep to the agreed schedule, and took care around established plants.

Tidiness is another common theme, since rubbish is removed and gardens are left clean after each visit. Photo and video updates were appreciated when a landlord was not present, and clients speak warmly of the team's knowledge and willingness to answer questions about plants and trees. The electric cargo bike trailers used to carry kit also drew favourable comments, as did the friendly, hard-working attitude throughout each project.

The team arrived promptly, did the work (pruning a wisteria) with the minimum of fuss, and tidied up carefully. I'd recommend.

Nightingale did a brilliant job replacing 30 metres of decayed, decrepit, botched and tangled material with a bespoke timber fence and trellis. My neighbour and I agree that it's a thing of beauty. Luke and his team worked through freezing temperatures – even snow! – to complete the job inside the agreed schedule, having consulted extensively and set up meticulously beforehand. They took great care to work around my precious plants, to minimise any muddy mess (not easy in a wet, cold January) and they left the premises immaculate. On top of all that – and who could really ask for more? – they're truly nice guys to have around. Five stars and big thanks to Nightingale.

Second service delivered by Nightingale Garden & Home Ltd which was to maintain my courtyard garden where some of the plants were overgrown. Turned up on time, efficient and professional. The garden now looks fantastic and as a good as new. Brilliant company.

Luke and his team have absolutely transformed our front and back gardens - cannot recommend them enough! Since buying our house, we’ve had the team through for winter clean ups, garden design / long term planning and overall maintenance. Everyone is lovely to work with, incredibly hard working and Luke in particular is very responsible and accommodating. Really happy to have been referred to Nightingale!

The Nightingale gardening team have been great and with just some regular visits have transformed our garden. The team are very friendly, hard working and happy to help fill in my lack of knowledge about plants and trees. They do a great job and leave the garden clean and tidy. Highly recommend. James.

You will be very lucky if Luke and his team can squeeze you in. Nightingale Gardens are everything you want in a garden maintenance squad. Knowledge, enthusiasm, excellent work ethic, huge green credentials and attention to detail (especially on the tidying up front!) I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Really responsive service- came and did the work very quickly and sent super clear costings upfront. Very flexible and hired me a chipper. Also love their emphasis on using electric cargo bike trailers to bring all their kit. Highly recommend.
