NSK Landscapes

I have been using NSK Landscapes for regular lawn mowing since 2024. I have always been very pleased with the service they provide. They turn up on time and they are always very helpful and polite. I highy recommend them.

We have used NSK Landscapes for a few years now from cutting the grass and hedges to installing new fencing and the service from Dominic and Stephen has always been great. Reliable and trustworthy, would highly recommend.

Nsk have done various jobs for me cutting trees re tufing and cutting my grass each week, I can not recommend them highly enough! They turn up without fail do an excellent job are so tidy and very courteous.

They quoted to replace my existing lawn that was quite tired and impacted over several decades of kids playing on it, and needed a refresh now the kids have left home. We were offered a strategy where the team would dig out all the existing grass and topsoil, before then replacing with new topsoil and seeding. My requirements were that I wanted the lawn to be flat and as uniform as possible. During mid/late summer of 2023 we recieved the quote along with a contract and a proposed start date in mid-March 2024. There were a couple of small issues with communications around the final logistics in terms of timing and access, but that part all worked out well in the end. The team arrived and were clean and polite. They did however need quite frequent confirmation of the work quality as it progressed. The topsoil was taken away, and a decision was made to mix in some sand with the new topsoil to allow for better permeability. Then finally the seed was sown, and left. I was advised that I should see signs of germination within 4-6 weeks. I took photographs of the lawn and sent through to the team, and a decision was made about 6 weeks following the initial work to reseed as germination had not been progressing at all well. During this period lots of weeds started to appear in the lawn; weed types that had certainly never been present in the lawn that had been replaced suggesting some topsoil contamination? Also the topsoil had a lot of stones in it, which I queried and was told provided additional drainage. I picked out as many of the large stones (anything larger than a 50p coin) as i really do not see how grass could grow on stones that size, nor add any mechanical benefit to the soil structure. A further 5 weeks then passed and the lawn was still looking very patchy. They visited again following a series of SMS messages and images, and sowed again into the areas that were still looking thin. I was then told in no uncertain terms that if this failed or I had any further concerns they would not be interested in attending again. They did offer and leave the remaining seed in the bag they'd just used. When I asked what the seed mix was, I was told it was a generic seed mix bought on Amazon. I purchased 3 watering sprinklers to irrigate the entire lawn regularly both during the germination period when it wasn't raining and through the summer, however even with this cost and the cost of the water the results have not measured up to my lowest expectation. We're now at the end of the summer of 2024 and the lawn is still very patchy. The tufts that have grown have created an uneven surface as the soil and sand from areas without grass has blown around and away. An area under the lawn where I had pointed out we had a soakaway runoff for rainwater is now clearly visible as a grey square in the middle of the lawn too. Bottom line is that while they did a good job of the manual labour digging out the existing lawn, the final result does not represent the intended or planned outcome. I am now raking out as much of the lawn as I can ahead of the autumn, adding a nutrient application to the soil and adding loam on top before seeding with high quality seed from KissMyGrass, who have been incredibly helpful in advising on strategies to correct what should have been a lawn I was proud of. Good intentions all round.

We wanted to have our garden re-designed and knew that we couldn't do this ourselves so, on a recommendation from our then gardener, we contacted NSK Landscapes. It was the best decision we ever made! Dominic was a complete professional, as was the rest of the team! Dominic surveyed our back garden and listened to what we wanted but made suggestions as and where appropriate. We came up with a plan [although this did change several times] and ALL the changes were implemented! Would recommend this Company to anybody! They were pleasant and polite and all workers were extremely professional. A pleasure to find a Company who do exactly what they say they will do!

Dominic and his family carried out an excellent job on behalf of Barham Parish Council. They cleared and trimmed several main footpaths and hedges much to the delight of Barham and surrounding Parishoners. Some of these footpaths had been neglected for many years and needed a lot of hard work to restore them to somewhere near there original condition. Dominic and his team were very helpful and approachable. An excellent job. We would highly recommend them. Thankyou.
