We have enjoyed Alfresco on a number of occasions since 2007. Firstly to redesign our garden and then a number of ‘adjustments’ over the years. The Team headed by Alistair are total professionals in all they do Their work is first class and we cannot recommend Alfresco highly enough.

I would like to say a big thanks to Al for all his help and advice regarding our irrigation system. Nothing was too much trouble and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Alfresco for any garden works. We have wanted to revitalise our garden for the past couple of years including the expansion of an existing pond, replacement of crumbling decking areas and the introduction of new features to the garden. This is not an insignificant project and I wanted to ensure we chose the right company for the job. Having researched local Landscaping companies we contacted Alfresco in November 2020. We were advised by the office team that work was being booked for 2 -3 months in advance. This did not come as a surprise and we were more than happy to wait and hoped we might get underway during the summer of 2021. Alistair promptly came round to listen to our ideas and provide suggestions of his own. He followed up with another site visit the following week to measure up. We provided a rough sketch of what we were looking for and Alistair advised that he would pass this on to his designer to produce a design. Unfortunately this never materialised and we have been unable to contact him or communicate effectively since. My partner emailed Alistair on 8th February 2021 to follow up on the design and again on 10th April. In between, I called their offices in late February and March. The office staff were very polite but unable to shed any light on the progress of our project. I was assured that my messages were being passed to Alistair but we did not receive a response to either our emails or calls. We began to wonder whether we should look elsewhere or continue to hold on to our assumed 'place in the queue'. We decided on the latter and hoped someone would be in contact soon since we were now 6 months down the line from first contact. On 2nd June, I sent a message via Alfresco's Facebook page and Alistair responded promptly and advised that he was away for a half term break and would provide an update upon his return. Having not heard back from him, I followed up on 29th August however my message went unanswered. Summer had now passed by and with the decking fast deteriorating into a dangerous state, on 28th September, I had another go at contacting their offices by phone. I had spoken to the representative that answered earlier in the year and he recalled our previous conversation and still had a record of our contact details. I asked him if he knew what the situation was and if there was a reason why there was a lack of communication. I told him we had now been waiting 10 months and that without any indication from them as to whether a design would be forthcoming / what timeline they were working to etc. was frustrating for us since we had no idea where we stood. He was very empathetic and sounded frustrated by our situation. He reiterated that to his knowledge, they were still booking work 2 - 3 months in advance and therefore could not give a reason for the lack of response. He assured me that he would again pass the message on to Alistair. Once more, no response came. My latest and final attempts to move the project forward were an email sent on 23rd December and after two weeks had passed without response, a copy was sent via their Facebook page on 7th January 2022. I do not often feel compelled to leave reviews (particularly of this nature) but in this instance, having initially had high hopes that we would be sat in our refreshed garden this spring (2022), we are no further forward than we were 14 months ago. With no indication when or if this position will change, we are left feeling frustrated and ultimately disappointed. The 1 star is for communication only. Clearly, I cannot comment on the quality of work.

Al's team have been great. Al sent detailed briefs and quotes for the work and it was started and completed within the time frame. We are delighted with the finished project. All the men worked carefully and professionally, with respect for our home. The building work is of a very high standard and we were kept informed about deliveries and the whole process. Thought and imagination went into the finished work. We highly recommend Alfresco. (By the way....the men like cakes and tea and coffee!)
